Tell us your story
We are looking for true stories, artefacts and documents that
reflect the history of the people and communities of the Hunter Valley. Please tell us about your past experiences and
personal accounts relating but not limited to local genealogy and family
histories, coal mine and colliery workers, industrial action and other topics
relating to coal and the community.
Submission
must be original material. We reserve the right to adapt and
edit the material to suit the purposes of the project. Any material selected will become part of the collections of the University of Newcastle to be used with our discretion.
We prefer material submitted in an electronic format by emailing it to coalfieldshistory@gmail.com. We encourage you to use multimedia when possible, including photographs, artwork, documents, audio and video materials. We can accept electronic files in most formats. If you have consulted outside resources for your submission, please cite your sources at the end of your document.
All material submitted to the project must be material in which you either own the copyright, have written permission from the copyright owner to use, or material that is in the public domain.
